 1. Start with a Clean Vase

Before placing your flowers in water, always clean your vase thoroughly with warm soapy water. This removes bacteria that can shorten the lifespan of your blooms.

 2. Trim the Stems

Use sharp scissors or floral shears to cut 1–2 inches off the stems at a 45-degree angle. This increases water intake and helps flowers stay hydrated. Re-trim every 2–3 days.

 3. Remove Foliage Below the Waterline

Any leaves left below the waterline will rot and breed bacteria. Strip off any foliage that would sit in water to keep it fresh and clean.

 4. Use the Flower Food

We include a flower food packet with all our arrangements—use it! It contains nutrients and anti-bacterial agents to help your flowers flourish. Mix it into clean, room temperature water.

 5. Change Water Regularly

Change the water every two days. When you do, rinse the vase and give the stems a fresh trim. This simple step keeps bacteria at bay and your flowers happier for longer.

 6. Keep Them Cool

Display your flowers away from direct sunlight, heating vents, and appliances. Excessive heat causes blooms to wilt faster. Cool, shaded areas are best.

 7. Keep Flowers Away from Fruit

Ripening fruits release ethylene gas, which can age your flowers prematurely. Store fruit in a separate room from your arrangement to avoid this!
